Miniature horses and dogs?

My family and i are thinking about getting a miniature horse, i have one question. Do mini horses get along with dogs? I heard that mini donkeys can stomp to death dogs but i dont want that to happen to our three dogs. We have a laid back rottwhile a high strung german shepard and a little half pug half miniature douchan. (pardon my bad spelling) I just want to know if our animals are going to be safe with this new little hores. Thanks
