What do you do with 10 lbs of frozen chicken thighs & drumsticks?

There are only two of us, my son and myself. Altho' my son is a big eater, there is no way we can eat that much chicken at one meal. I know I've always been told never to refreeze anything, especially chicken. If I thaw it out slowly in the refrigerator, can I divide it up into smaller freezer bags and refreeze it if I'm careful not to allow the temp of the chicken get too warm? Do you have a suggestion?
