Bon Jovi & Ritchie Sambora gay ?

My husband told me that in the '80s it was widely publicized that Jon Bon Jovi and Ritchie Sambora had gay . I have never believed this, but my husband swears to me he is telling the truth. Does anyone ever remember hearing about this?
