Only one allele need be present in a diploid genotype to exhibit the dominant trait. True or False?

This is true in the case of heterozygotes. Suppose at a particular locus, there are two alleles: Y (dominant) and y (recessive). There are three possibilities in the diploid: YY (dominant phenotype), Yy (dominant phenotype), and yy (recessive phenotype).
